I of The A - Z Wedding Guide

You may remember me starting this A-Z Wedding guide, that I kinda didn't get round to finishing before my wedding.  Well, now I have a little bit more free time I endeavor to try and finish it.  Here goes.......

I - can be for Invitations, In-laws, "I-do"

Invitations are the cards you send out to all your guests.  They have the date, time and address of the wedding. They normally have inside the directions to the venue an information guide to hotels in the area and of course the gift list.

Again, more and more couples use the invitation to give an indication to the colour code at the wedding and the use the opportunity to be original and clever.  They make the invitation personal and unique to them and , some may even create logo for themselves.

in-laws are the groom's or bride's parents which after you are married become the retrospective in-laws.

There are many jokes that go around about in-laws, some maybe true, but if you are lucky you find yourself a great husband with a great parents.

"I-do" is what you say at the mairie when you agree to married your fiance.

H of The A - Z Wedding Guide

You may remember me starting this A-Z Wedding guide, that I kinda didn't get round to finishing before my wedding.  Well, now I have a little bit more free time I endeavor to try and finish it.  Here goes.......

H - can be for Hen, Honeymoon

Hen Party is the party that you have before you get married. For the lady it is called the Hen and for the man a Stag party.

It normally involves the bridge to be wearing a sash, with 'bride to be' or 'hen party' written on it.  There are many levels of hen party, they can be small, quite and composed or they can be crazy wild nights.  More and More ladies are going abroad for their hen parties, travelling to Spain, Ibiza, Tenerife etc.  That way you celebrate over a period of days with friends, staying in a villa maybe.

Honeymoon is the other holiday that you have with your new husband, that will involve, sightseeing, lots of 'couple' time and romantic days and nights.

Again most honeymoons are now taken somewhere full of luxury, maybe the Maldives, Thailand, Seychelles, places that have gorgeous beaches and that last two weeks or more.

G of The A - Z Wedding Guide

You may remember me starting this A-Z Wedding guide, that I kinda didn't get round to finishing before my wedding.  Well, now I have a little bit more free time I endeavor to try and finish it.  Here goes.......

G - can be for Groom, Guests and Gift List

The groom is the other important 'half' of your wedding.  The grooms role is one that again never set.  They can sometimes give speeches on behalf of the newly wedded couple and can offer presents to the Best Man, bridesmaids, mother of the bride and groom etc.

Guests are the people that attend you wedding like your friends.  The people that make you day extra special.

The Gift List is the list you create and normally send with your invitations to your guests.  In old times it was normally contain items for the house, your new home you will move into once married, but nowadays more people are living together (and maybe even having children) before they are married, these people might then asked for money towards a honeymoon or towards a house that they that buy.  People are more and more likely to choose something personal to them and of course something they would like.

F of The A - Z Wedding Guide

You may remember me starting this A-Z Wedding guide, that I kinda didn't get round to finishing before my wedding.  Well, now I have a little bit more free time I endeavor to try and finish it.  Here goes.......

F - can be for Friends and Flowers

Friends are the people that attend your wedding, the best day of your lives.  They are the people that may have known you before you wedding and that you intend to continue knowing after.

It is lovely to share your wedding day with those close to you. Those who have been there for you, those you enjoy spending time with.  Your friends are those who normally attended the hen and stag party. At some weddings you have have friends that are invited to either the cocktail or the reception or both.

At weddings there are flowers.  You can find them in the church or Mairie, at the reception and often you will see the bride carrying a bouquet.  The flower industry is huge for weddings and there are many people offering their services. Choosing flowers is always a little hard as you normally have to pick from a picture in a book, so you won't actually get chance to see the real thing until the day!  Your florist will ensure that you flowers are prepared in a way that means that will last the day (depending on weather conditions) and then afterwards you can of course dry them out and keep them as a souvenir or have them framed as a momento of you day.
